I took this video on the 2nd day of float plane training. It was a courtesy ride from Scenic Mountain Air www.scenicmountainair.com www.alaskafloatratings.com (Thanks Lura). We departed Trail Lake, flew over Kenai River, Harding ice field, Seward then turned around and back to Trail Lake. (8-29-2006).
Note: This airplane -- Cessna 206 was crashed on Sept 21, 2007, just over a year after I took the flight, neither pilot nor passenger sustained any significant injuries. The pilot has practiced hundreds of power-off emergency landings before this accident.
As Vern Kingsford often said in his classes -- You do not rise to the occasion. You rise to your level of training and parctice.
